All By Myself

My parents left on their mission Monday morning and I already miss them. I've been so lucky to live close to them the past couple of years and for the first time ever, I'm living in a state with no Johansen's around. Even when I went off to college, my sister was only a few minutes away. Thank goodness, because I would have died without her.

When I think about how far away my family is, I feel sad and alone but then I remember that Erik's family is close by and my parents will return in 18 months. I hope to visit my siblings in Arizona and Nevada sometime soon. I love my family so much and know my parents have an exciting adventure ahead of them in Bermuda.
(Picture above was taken at our "goodbye" dinner last Friday.)

i don't know if you know that i read your blog quite frequently ... i'm a bit of a lurker here but this post got to me! it's so strange that you and your sisters are all spread out ... i feel the same - all 6 of the girls i grew up with (kathleen, tara, angie, liisa, heidi and angie) live in different states - except heidi ... she's out of the country! BUT it's SO great that we have the internet to keep us close. it doesn't seem so far when we can stay up to date on each other's lives and see pictures and read stories! I LOVE IT!!
your parent's are so awesome and 18 months is SO short! they'll be back before you know it!

I so sad for you... we'll be your family here in Utah while they are away k :). I hope your parents enjoy their mission and have great experiences.

It's so sad. I definately have days where I just wish I had my family close by because I feel so much more comfortable, I forgot what it was like to be away from family for so long. It's hard, but at least Mom and Dad will be home somewhat soon.

I can't believe that we moved to Utah to be close to family and now we are all separated. But, with great technology and our love we are still very close. We love you and miss you. Hope you can visit us in Bermuda.
