So Proud - Update

Letting Claire cry herself to sleep is not going as well as it was initially. Yesterday afternoon she didn't cry at all. Yesterday evening she cried for 20 min., slept for 30 min., cried for 25 min. and then I got her up. Last night she literally cried nonstop for 1.5 hours (I went in about every 20 minutes and consoled her).

Erik was a softy last night and after listening to her scream bloody murder for 1.5 hours, he told me that she has probably had enough torture and to go rock her to sleep. She fell asleep in about 30 seconds.

Today's afternoon nap she cried for 20 minutes and is now asleep. This I can handle, but if I have another night like last night, I'm going to go insane! I really hope she gets the hang of this soon!

you are doing a great job, I promise it will be worth it! She will definitely get the hang of it, just keep on keeping on and all three of you will be so glad you did!

You're a better woman than I. I gave up on sleep training until he was 4 months old... I figure I'd only have one baby that I could actually just rock. The rest would always have a sibling. :) In fact, sad to say, he slept in my arms pretty much that entire first 4 months. :) I actually never even tried sleep training except for once. At 4 months old- it took him 2 nights total and TA DA! :) But I also don't believe in checking for us.... The only times I checked/consoled he cried for hours and hours longer. When I didn't check it was max 30 minutes. 40 once I think. (having a hard time remembering..) It's so hard listening to a crying baby :( Good luck. Parenting is tough.

You're a lot stronger than I am. I could never handle listening to the screaming for that long. She is still really young to be falling asleep on her own, so don't torture yourself too long:)

Oh, poor Claire! She's so young! I hope she is able to figure it out real soon. You are great parents!
