Insanity - Am I Insane?

Three weeks ago I jumped on the new years resolution bandwagon to lose weight. After 6 months of hoping the remaining baby weight would fall off by itself (and it didn't), I realized I'm going to have to actually work to get by body back. Yuck! :) I started the Insanity workout program a few weeks ago and I am finally seeing results. Thank goodness! I wish I would have started it a lot earlier. The problem is that prior to giving birth to Claire, I was at the lowest weight I've ever been. This makes getting back to my pre-baby weight very difficult. I've heard people say "it takes 9 months to put it on so give it 9 months to get it off". Since I started the program, I've been losing a 1/2 pound every 5-7 days. Yay for me! I hope I can get the rest of it off by March 30th (9 months after Claire was born). I know I can get back to my old self eventually, but it is slightly depressing to know that I didn't get it off sooner. I guess I was hoping for a miracle and the weight would just disappear. Wishful thinking.

I know a few Moms that got the weight off after 6 months and even weigh less than they did to begin with. Depressing! So I want to hear from the rest of you Moms out there. How long did it take you to lose your baby weight?

You know my story. With Ashlyn I couldn't lose the weight until I stopped nursing. The month I stopped I lost 12 lbs. I never lost it with Avery or Blake:( Don't push yourself too hard, you don't want to get sick like I did while doing Insanity. I even think 9 months can be unreasonable if you retain weight while nursing. I'd give it a year. Those who lose weight fast make me sick:)

With my first I didn't get it off. With the second it all fell off like crazy by itself (i think that was stress / anxiety related!) and the third? I didnt lose weight till I stopped nursing too. And now I am stuck since I through exercise out the window a month or so ago! I plan to start again soon though! good luck! And seriously you still look amazing so don't stress too much!

I think you need to gain weight so that I can wear the clothes you don't want to keep. You look fantastic and the few pounds you want to lose is only visible to you, so don't worry.

I agree with Mom. You trying to lose weight is almost as strange as me putting Avery on a diet:) Getting toned I can see, but losing weight? :)

yea your insane, you look amazing! I totally know the feeling though of wanting to get back to that pre prego weight. When it gets a little warmer lets get the stollers out and go walking together, now that Im not pregnant anymore I don't have any more excuses!

haha. You don't want to know my losing weight story. You'd probably work out extra hard just HEARING how little weight I lost. It would put you at an even MORE unstable state of mind. *wink*

Good luck working out! Being healthy is always a good thing.

p.s. the "word verification" for me to post this is bunsevit. If you just put a "c" in there... buns evict. You planned this didn't you.
